All United’s inaugural event, Building Local Power, was a sold-out success and a powerful celebration of our growing movement. With a full house, we brought together community members, organizers, and elected leaders from across the region to celebrate victories and deepen our collective commitment to our mission.
We were honored to be joined by inspiring leaders including Congressman Jesús “Chuy” García, Mayor Jim Dodge, Mayor John Laesch, Niles Township HS District 219 Board Member Dr. Nour Akhras, and MVCC Trustee Diane Shaar—each embodying the kind of bold, community-rooted leadership we’re working to uplift.
The evening featured the presentation of our Congressional Leadership Award to Congresswoman Delia Ramirez and Congressman García, and our Legislative Leadership Award to State Senator Mike Porfirio and State Representative Justin Slaughter. We also proudly recognized Nadia Ali with our Community Service Award for her tireless commitment to service and grassroots impact.
From heartfelt speeches to moments of unity and reflection, this evening was a celebration of what we’re building together. And it’s only the beginning.
